PRODUCT CARE

Avoid applying lotions, hair products, etc. while wearing any of IR’s jewelry as these may damage them. Initial Reaction will not refund or exchange jewelry that has been scratched or damaged by cleaning agents, cosmetics or other personal care products.

GOLD VERMEIL:

In order to qualify as gold vermeil and not merely gold-plated, the base must be pure sterling silver. The piece is then dipped in 14 karat gold. If you properly care for gold vermeil, it will last for many years without tarnishing and without the gold wearing away. You should avoid wearing gold vermeil jewelry in the bath, shower, or when swimming. Do not have gold vermeil jewelry machine polished or dipped in any cleaning agent; these processes can wear away the gold layer. Use a soft, clean cloth to remove dirt, oils and other material from the jewelry.

STERLING SILVER:

If our sterling pieces should become tarnished, use a jewelry-grade polishing cloth to clean them. Never apply polishing agents to Initial Reaction’s sterling jewelry as these may scratch or damage them.

ACRYLICS:

Please handle your Initial Reaction acrylic jewelry with care.  Remember that acrylic is a form of plastic and can break if flexed, dropped on a hard surface, or crushed.  An occasional washing with gentle soap (such as Dove) and water will remove skin oils and keep the acrylic looking beautiful.

 

REPAIRS

All items are carefully inspected before shipping. We offer complimentary repairs on any workmanship issues within 14 days of delivery.

Our gold vermeil products are guaranteed not to lose their gold tone for 1 year. If they should wear away before that please send them back to us with a note asking that they be re-dipped. There will be no repair charge for this service, only a return shipping cost. If it has been more than 1 year, we can re-dip the item for a $15 fee plus a shipping fee.

We can buff and polish our sterling silver products for a $15.00 repair fee plus a shipping fee.

Please send your item in a small box or padded pack via an insured carrier. Initial Reaction is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen packages. Include a note describing the repair request. Be sure to include your name and contact information. We will ship your repaired item back to you in approximately 2-3 weeks.
